The Certificate IV in Accounting qualification provides students with basic accounting skills and train them to use computers in the accounting environment, leading to careers such as accounts receivable and payable clerks, payroll clerks, bookkeepers, general clerical assistants or trainee accountants.
This course is especially designed for employees who perform duties such as operational reporting, producing basic management and job costing reports, preparing budgets, maintaining inventory records, process business tax requirements and making decisions in a legal context.
Students will learn how to prepare financial reports and financial statements, set up and operate a computerised accounting system, prepare operational budget, produce job costing information and maintain asset and inventory records. This qualification reflects accounting job roles in financial services and other industries requiring accounting support functions.

This course is designed for the concurrent development of theoretical knowledge and practical work skills. Students will be undertaking lectures and practical tutorials. Assessment MethodsThe emphasis of assessment is on collection of evidence, holistic assessment against the module purpose and trainer/assessor judgment. The focus is on the integration of areas of theoretical knowledge, practical skills and proper work attitudes.

Normal learning and assessment will take place in an integrated classroom and real workplace environment.
